This course is suitable for newcomers to ayurveda, but also includes a level of depth and details to satisfy those who are already familiar.

Topics Include:

-Your ayurvedic constitution and balance
- Simple cooking and digestive remedies
- Ayurvedic health routines
- Safe cleansing practices
- Mind states, health and practices for balance

Course Outline

Session 1 - All About You!

How to understand yourself from an ayurvedic lens - the application, fine details, limitations and the very important state of vikruti (current state). We will explore some expanded and complimentary models of the doshas, gunas and maha-bhutas, and of the main principles of creating balance.

Session 2 - Ahara and Aushadi - Food, Meals, Herbs and Spices

In this session we will cook a common ayurvedic meal, learn the art of spicing food, explore the ayurvedic lens of flavour (rasa), how to adapt meals to suit your needs, and the wide range of uses of culinary spices.

Session 3 - Agni and Ama - Digestion and Home Cleansing

Here we will explore these cornerstones of ayurvedic health, how to optimise digestion with tips, recipes and individualised knowledge.  We will also discuss some easy, simple, safe at-home cleansing practices with individualised variations.

Session 4 - Dinacharya - The Rhythms of Life

This session will explore routines - daily, weekly, seasonal, biorhythms and life 'seasons' - how we can adapt and make the most of these movements of time and life. We will explore and try some dinacharya (daily practices) to implement and design a personal care program.

Session 5 - Antah Karana - the Inner State and Consciousness

Another ayurvedic speciality is the integration of the subtler parts of our being and their impact on our health and sense of wellbeing.  We will map the subtle body, and lay out some sattvavijaya practices that help to manage our inner self. This is where it all begins and ends!

Sessions will include an ayurvedic tea/drink, personal planning, group discussion, education, hands-on practices and exercises. You will also receive your own coursebook for note taking and creating individualised plans for yourself.

Payment

For this course I have decided to try a sliding scale payment option, of between $200 - $300 for all 5 sessions. My hope is that this reduces any financial barrier for those wanting to attend, but that people also pay honestly according to what they can afford.
Payment is required before the course begins.
